BPEC in conjunction with EU Skills have developed a number of new QCF Smart Metering qualifications (Power, Gas and Dual Fuel).
The Smart Metering qualifications are designed to provide new entrants with the necessary skills to install and exchange Smart Meters. These qualifications will provide employers with an opportunity to train, develop and qualify a skilled workforce in order to meet the forthcoming requirement to install smart meters into every property in the UK.
Building on the great work E.ON are doing with National Skills Academy for Power they have been able to help and support us with the development of the smart metering qualifications, Richard Phipps of BPEC commented “The help received from E.ON in the development of the new qualifications has been invaluable to us and I would like to thank the E.ON team for their significant contribution”
Ted Miller at E.ON said: “As we move toward a national rollout of smart meters, it’s really important that we provide our teams with the right skills and training to ensure it is a success. Installing new technology into 26 million homes is no mean task but this new qualification is another step forward in ensuring our existing workforce as well as new entrants are up to the task.”
